Messi's Brace Lights up Gillette Arena

The MLS soccer franchise Inter Miami’s squad has been a nightmare for the rivals this season. David Beckham’s club has the services of footballing greats Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. The League Cup defending champions are on a dream run this summer. Their last match against New England Revolutions was at the Gillette Stadium, the legendary Tom Bardy’s home stadium for a long time. 

Lionel Messi’s impact on MLS and American soccer has been inevitable. The defending World Champion has brought a football revolution to the United States. The 9th league match of the season was played between Inter Miami and New England Revolution. In front of 65.612 fans, Lionel Messi smashed the home side who are presently sitting at the bottom half of the points table. Despite leading in the first 30 minutes of the game, La Pulga pulled out the equalizer in the 32nd minute from a fine assist by Robert Taylor. 

Messi displayed his vintage style after his friend Luis Suarez stepped on the pitch. A picture-perfect assist from his former FC Barcelona teammate, Sergio Busquets, helped Messi to get his brace. Later a tap-in from the 8-time Ballon d’Or champion found B.Cremaschi who served the ball to Suarez for a fine finish by the Uruguyran Striker. 

The Black and Pink side are at the top of league standings in the Eastern Conference with 21 points under their belt in 11 matches played so far. They faced a backlash when Messi was injured and were humiliatingly knocked out of the Concacaf Champions Cup during the time period. This season pictures a dream for the Inter Miami football club to lift their first-ever MLS Cup!
