Harshal stays with Bangalore while Rajasthan buys Padikkal and Holder moves to Lucknow

Harshal Patel or famously known as Purple Patel will continue to play for the Bangalore franchise. Bangalore was in a race with Chennai at first and then with Hyderabad but fortunately won the race for 10.75 crores. The Indian pacer was brilliant last season and took 32 wickets for the franchise and helped the team finish in a respectable position. Being back into the squad, he will look forward to winning Bangalore’s first Indian T20 League title.

Coming to Rajasthan next, the team has built up a solid core so far. The team already retained Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal and now they got their hands on Devdutt Padikkal, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult and also Shimron Hetmyer.

Padikkal is no doubt a brilliant buy for the team as he is very much the future of Indian cricket. He played some brilliant cricket in the past for Bangalore and that’s why the team wanted to get him back. Other than Rajasthan and Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai also wanted to get the service of this young star but no one could as Rajasthan bought this talented young player for 7.75 crores.

The team didn’t hesitate to pay a whooping 8.5 crores for Shimron Hetmyer. The Caribbean star was part of the Delhi team last year and the team from the capital wanted to get him back but decided not to see his price.

Kolkata Knight Riders once again spent a lot of money on a player as they decided to bring Nitish Rana back into the mix. Kolkata was in a bidding war with Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and Lucknow but at last, got him for 8 crores. Going to the later stage of the auction, the team will have to be a bit shy as they don’t have a lot of bucks to spend.

The captain of the Bangalore Rani team Manish Pandey will be heading to Lucknow for 4.6 crores while Dwayne Bravo and Robin Uthappa will be back for Chennai as the players will cost them 4.4 crores and 2 crores in the auction table respectively. There was a lot of traffic in the auction room when Deepak Hooda’s name came up. He recently made his debut for team India and now will be playing for the Lucknow franchise for 5.75 crores. Teams like Rajasthan, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad were interested in having him but Lucknow are the ones who’ll be enjoying his service.

The surprise so far has been that the likes of Suresh Raina, Shakib Al Hasan, David Miller and Steve Smith went unsold. They can obviously come back later in the auction but Shakib, who brings so much into the table going unsold is a bit shocking.
