Axar Patel replaces injured Ravindra Jadeja in India's Asia T20 squad

Ahead of the Super four, India have suffered a major blow in the form of Ravindra Jadeja. The ace all rounder has been ruled out of the remainder of the Asia T20 due to sustaining a knee injury. Jadeja is currently under the supervision of the Indian Cricket Board medical team. Axar Patel is expected to replace the star cricketer. Patel, who was recently named as one of the standby players in the squad will join the team soon. Jadeja featured in both the league games against Pakistan and Hong Kong respectively. 

"The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Axar Patel as the replacement for Ravindra Jadeja in the ongoing Asia Cup. Ravindra Jadeja has sustained a right knee injury and is ruled out of the tournament. He is currently under the supervision of the BCCI medical team. His replacement, Axar Patel was earlier named as one of the standbys in the squad and will join the team in Dubai soon," the Indian Cricket Board said in a statement.

Against Pakistan, Jadeja was the joint run getter for the men in blue. He alongside Hardik Pandya played a big part in India’s astounding win. 

India will face the winner of Pakistan and Hong Kong on September 4, Sunday in match 2 of the Super 4.
