I am keen to contribute more to the team with the bat in England: Rishabh Pant

After the T20I series against South Africa ended on level terms, India’s stand-by Captain Rishabh Pant is now focusing to do well in the one-off test against England. He is going through a very rough patch and many claim that Rishabh should get dropped from the T20I squad when the likes of Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav join the squad in the England series.

Pant isn’t focusing on anything else but to give his 100% in the next series. Speaking to the press after the 5th T20I got washed out because of rain, Pant said, “There are a lot of positives. The way the team showed character from 0-2 down was a huge positive. We are in a nice spot as we are finding different ways to win the game. I can only think about giving my 100 percent as a player and captain. It is for you guys to decide on how I am doing as a player and captain, I can only focus on giving my 100 percent every time I go on the field and keep improving”.

Speaking about the upcoming England series, the 24-year-old said, “We will be keen to win the Test we are going to play in England and from a personal point of view I am keen to contribute more to the team with the bat”.

Majority members of the test squad have already reached the United Kingdom. Rishabh Pant, who’s a very effective player as far as test cricket is concerned will be a bit under pressure as his recent run of form will not give him any confidence. However, in the middle of so many star cricketers and coach Rahul Dravid, Pant should get back his mojo and do well in what is a very important series in the history of Indian cricket.
