The Spinners have to come better into the game: Frustrated Pant tells after losing to South Africa

After winning twelve T20I’s in a row under Rohit Sharma, things are once again falling apart in the Indian team. Many fans have expressed their anger and disappointment towards Rishabh Pant while Rishabh Pant has done the same against his spinners. To take a note, Chahal has conceded 49 off his four while Axar has given 19 on his over and Rishabh has all the rights to express his frustration. The bowling unit is unable to choke the opponent and other than Bhuvneshwar Kumar, every other bowler has been very, very ordinary.

“The Spinners have to come better into the game”, said Pant in the post-match conference without elaborating much. The youngster also added, “We could have bowled better, hope we improve in the next game. We need to win all the remaining three games now”.

Sunil Gavaskar, the legend of the game has already expressed that the team should play Umran Malik and the speedster from Jammu is very much expected to start in the next match. Can he make the difference? Well, with 22 scalps under his belt in the Indian T20 League, it can be said without a doubt that the boy has enough talent to make it to International Cricket.

Team India scored 148 runs in 20 overs after a brilliant cameo from Dinesh Karthik towards the end. Hardik Pandya’ return to the Indian team has been a flop and so has been Ruturaj Gaikwad. India might give him another opportunity before trying their hands on Venkatesh Iyer. India scored 10-15 runs short according to Pant but after a great start to the 2nd innings the bowlers didn’t help much as Heinrich Klaasen won it pretty comfortably for the Proteas.

“We were 10-15 runs short. Bhuvi and the fast bowlers bowled well in the first 7-8 overs. But after that we weren't up to the mark. In the second half we needed wickets, but we couldn't get those wickets. They (Klaasen and Bavuma) actually batted really well”, added the stand-by captain of the series.
