Shakib Al Hasan unavailable for forthcoming WI ODIs and Zim tour
Shakib Al Hasan is unavailable for the upcoming West Indies ODIs, Zimbabwe tour
Bangladesh Cricket Council officials have said that allrounder Shakib Al Hasan is inaccessible for the three-match ODI series against West Indies and also for the forthcoming tour of Zimbabwe.
Shakib's position was in tension for both the ODIs in West Indies as well as in the Zimbabwe tour, and Bangladesh Cricket Council’s cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus verified the same on June 7, Thursday, before getting into a conference with the Bangladesh team selection panel at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
Currently, the Bangladesh team is scheduled to play three ODIs with West Indies after the ongoing T20I series at Guyana on July 10, 13 and 16 respectively.
Jalal informed the reporters after the meeting that Shakib Al Hasan is not available for the tour of Zimbabwe which is to be held in the July- August window.
Jalal also conveyed that, "Shakib is unavailable during the Zimbabwe tour and informed us before time about it and so we sat with the selection panel concerning the formation of the squad," "Most of the other senior players are available in the team and they want to play," he added.
Maybe the Bangladesh Cricket Council is thinking of sending a second-string Bangladesh team to Zimbabwe, though a final conclusion in this respect is yet to be accepted.
