Before the start of the Test series against Australia, the Indian team was in the second position in the Test rankings, while Pat Cummins-led Australia was at the top of the test ranking chart. But the host side got the benefit of a one-sided victory in Nagpur in the Test rankings as well and it has become the No. 1 team in world cricket in all formats.

For the first time in the history of Indian cricket, Team India has managed to occupy number-1 position in all three formats of cricket. Before entering the Nagpur Test match, the Australian team had 126 points, after which they were left with 111 points due to the defeat. At the same time, the Indian team has taken steps to make its place in the final of the World Test Series for the second time in a row.

If team India manages to win 2 out of the remaining 3 matches of the BGT Test series, then the team will secure its place in the final of the World Test Series, the left-arm spinner Jadeja, who took his 11th test fifer in the first innings of the test match, then took 2/34 in the second innings to partner with Ashwin as the spin twins quickly dismissed the Visitors top seven batters and left them reeling at 67/7 on the way to being all out for just 91 in which both together took a total of 15 wickets in the match.

His amazing performance has helped Ashwin and he has moved straight from fourth to second in the latest Test bowling rankings with 846 rating points. At the same time, his difference with the first-ranked Australian captain Pat Cummins has been reduced to 21 rating points. Whereas, Jadeja stayed on the top of the chart in terms of all-rounders with 424 points after his blistering performance with bat and ball in the first test against Australia.

Team India's skipper Rohit Sharma has been rewarded for his match-defining ton in Nagpur with a rise from 10th to 8th in the Men's test batters ranking with 786 points for his magnificent knock of 120 runs. Whereas, Virat Kohli slips to the 17th spot in the test ranking after scoring just a dozen runs against Australia in the first inning of the first test match.
