International Cricket Board confirms USA’s participating in 2024 T20 World Series

By virtue of hosting the T20 World Championship in 2024, the International Cricket Board has decided that the host nations will directly qualify for the mega event. A lot of times in the past, this was avoided but now, the board has expressed their will to continue with the motion. With that, being an associate nation in the cricket fraternity, the United States of America will play their first world tournament and the nation would like to build upon that and make something big out of it.

The board previously decided to increase the number of participants and 20 teams will fight to win the gold. The top-eight teams from the 2022 World Championship will automatically qualify while the others fight for their position. As of now, if West Indies manages to get into the top eight, then three teams will get the chance to get into the position for qualifications.

“12 teams are to qualify automatically for the event. The top eight teams from the 2022 event will be joined by the two host Members, West Indies and USA, plus a number of the next highest ranked teams on the International Men’s T20I Rankings table as of 14 November 2022, with the remaining places then going through Regional Qualifying”, said the board in an official statement.
