The meeting, incidentally, took place just a day after the 12th anniversary of the final (on April 2, 2011), against Sri Lanka.

Dhoni deposited Sri Lanka’s premium pacer Nuwan Kulasekara for a six in the Vithal Divecha Pavilion. It is difficult to identify exactly on which seat the ball had landed. We have identified three-four seats and we will install the memorial at that very spot," Kale further said.

The MCA call is hot on the heels of another similar decision of building a statue of legend Sachin Tendulkar at the Wankhede Stadium.
Meanwhile, recalling the historic win on its 12th anniversary, the master blaster said, “The trophy doesn't just belong to the team it belongs to the nation; 2nd April, 2011, was the best cricketing moment of my life. It has been 12 years of that golden moment. To me that was the reason my journey started," Tendulkar said on Sunday.
