Preview 

England (ENG) and Ireland (IRE) will lock horns in the third and final ODI match of the on Tuesday, September 26 at the Gloucestershire Cricket Stadium. After the series opener was called off without a ball being bowled, the 2nd ODI lived up to the expectations as we had a positive outcome. England secured a 48 run win and are 1-0 up in the series. 

The hosts were clinical in all three departments in the last game. After being asked to bat first, ENG posted a formidable total of 334 runs. Will Jacks, who was just playing his third game, bludgeoned the Irish bowlers to all parts of the ground and scored a sensational 94 to put his side in a commanding position half way through. Sam Hain (89) was the second leading run scorer for England with bat in hand. The English bowlers then joined the party and bundled out the visitors for 286. 

Despite the loss in the previous game, IRE did have a few positives. After losing wickets in succession, their lower order put up a good fight. IRE at one stage were struggling to even cross the 200 run mark, but contributions from George Dockrell (43), Barry McCarthy (41) and Craig Young (40) reduced the loss deficit. The men in green, although, were substandard with ball in hand. Barring Craig, no other pace bowler looked effective. Joshua Little and Mark Adair failed to contain the English batters as they conceded quite a few runs in their spells respectively. Dockrell with three wickets was IRE’s pick of the bowlers in that game.
