Haaland scores his 35th league goal in City's 3-0 win

Man City’s star striker Erling Haaland made new history as the Citizens beat West Ham 3-0 in the English Premier League and rose to the lead in the points table on Wednesday at Etihad Stadium. The 22-year-old Norwegian star, who did not pass the Hammers empty, broke the record of legendary names by increasing the number of goals in the EPL to 35. Struggling for the title in the English Premier League, Man City overcame the West Ham obstacle with goals in the second half.

Guardiola's team, who won the fight 3-0 with 79 points in the EPL table, left Arsenal behind by 1 point despite the lack of a match and rose to the lead. Nathan Ake at 49, Erling Haaland at 70 and Philip Foden at 85 scored goals that brought Manchester City three crucial points.

Again, Erling Haaland left his mark on the team who scored City's second goal in the match and added a new one to his records this season. The 22-year-old swashbuckling player, who increased the total number of goals in the league to 35, became the player to score the most goals in a season in the history of the Premier League.

The previous record was held by Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole with 34 goals each. Cole reached this number in the 1993-94 season and Shearer in the 1994-95 season. Haaland also differs from previous records with important detail. Shearer reached this number of goals in 42 games, and Cole in 39 games. Haaland, on the other hand, scored 35 goals in 31 matches, an unbelievable success.

Manchester City players congratulated Erling Haaland privately after the match. As his coach Guardiola gathered the team to the side of the field and lined it up like a rope, they humorously hit Haaland on the back, who was passing through the crowd.

The Norwegian, who thanked his teacher and friends after the match, commented on this historical moment humorously, "It was painful when everyone hit me on the back."

City star Haaland is taking the Champions League by storm as well as the Premier League. The 22-year-old striker, who played 8 games in the Giants League in his first season with Manchester City, is at the top of the race for kingship with 12 goals. Haaland, who played 43 matches across formats for City this season, scored 50 goals, and he will certainly increase this number even more with 6 weeks left in the league. He has directly contributed to 58 goals this season, with 8 assists in addition to 50 goals in all competitions.
