HYD has had a horrid start to the season, losing to RAJ by 72 runs in their opening fixture. HYD conceded 203 runs in the first innings. For Hyderabad, Fazalhaq Farooqi and T Natarajan were the picks of the bowlers as they claimed 2 wickets each while giving 41 and 23 runs in bowling. However, that was not enough as the HYD set a huge total of 204 runs to chase.

There were hardly any positives for the Orange Army from the batting department as HYD could manage only 131 runs in their 20 overs. The opening batter Mayank Agarwal (27) and impact player Abdul Samad (32) were the only batters who got starts however they too could not convert them.
