Bruno Guimares attracts attention from Real Madrid

Newcastle United star Bruno Guimares is reported to be gaining the attention of Real Madrid, as per Mundo Deportivo. 

The Brazilian midfielder has been impressive for the Magpies throughout the season and displayed a gutsy performance against Man Utd in the 2-0 Carabao Cup final loss. As per the report Madrid is highly interested in roping in the 25-year old, though it is believed they will face stern competition from other European clubs. 

The Whites are apparently eager to bolster their midfield in the summer, with Luka Modric out of contract in the summer. Jude Bellingham is another player at their priority, though Borussia Dortmund’s €150 million transfer valuation could see Los Blancos opting out of this deal. 

Guimaraes has been a vital cog for Newastle’s turnaround this season, netting three goals alongside three assists in the Premier League, helping the Magpies vie for a Champions League place. 

Despite the interest in Guimaraes, Newcastle has no financial constraints to let the 25 year old leave St James’ Park this summer as his deal does not expire until 2026.
