Dawid Malan's match-winning 4th ODI hundred guided England to beat Bangladesh by 3 wickets

England's limited overs team, which arrived on tour to play a 3-match ODI and 3-match T20 series against Bangladesh, started with a win and defeated Bangladesh by 3 wickets in the first match played at Shere-Bangla Stadium. The Visitors took the 1-0 lead over the Hosts on Wednesday.

Jofra Archer, Mark Wood, Moeen Ali and Rashid Ali took 2-2 wickets for England, while Will Jacks and Chris Woakes took 1-1 wickets.

In response, the England team, chasing runs, lost the wicket of their opener, Jason Roy, in the very first over on the score of 4. From here, the left-handed batter Dawid Malan kept one end for England and faced 145 balls and scored an unbeaten 114 with the help of 8 fours and 4 sixes, while the fall of wickets continued from the other end and but Malan smashed his 4th ODI century.

Apart from Dawid Malan, Philip Salt (12), Will Jack (26), Moeen Ali (14) and Adil Rashid (17) continued the partnership with Malan by playing small but important innings. The England team, batting in difficult conditions on a slow pitch, scored 212 runs losing 7 wickets in 48.4 overs and won the match by 3 wickets. The second match of the series will be played on Friday at Mirpur ground.
