"Tables Have Turned": Ramiz Raja takes a jibe at Australia as India secures the Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Former Pakistan Cricket Council’s chairman and skipper Ramiz Raza has asserted that it is impossible to defeat the Indian Cricket Team on their own soil. It was Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin leading the bowling attack for which maybe the Australian side were behind the ropes or who knows on the contrary they would have reclaimed the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The spin duo managed to turn the table in favour of the home team as they played in the capital city, Arun Jaitley Stadium against the mighty Aussies. The major collapse in the batting of the away side was due to the spinners continuously binding them in a web of their magical spells. The Aussies lost 9 wickets in 90 minutes while their second innings phase on the third day of the 2nd Test. The hosts finished off the game with ease and took an assailable lead of 2-0 ahead of the final Test which will be held at Nagpur.

In a video on his own Youtube channel, Ramiz Raja was seen in full praises for skipper Rohit Sharma and co. He also pinpointed Ravindra Jadeja as the architect of India’s win in both innings.

The former Pakistan Cricket Council chief mentioned all-rounder Axar Patel whose invaluable innings of 74 runs helped India recover from a shaky situation in the first innings.

"The clincher was Axar Patel's knock in the first innigs. He stitched a crucial partnership with Ashwin at a time when Australia would have entertained hopes of skittling India out for a low score and taking a sizeable lead. Australia did not demonstrate the necessary mental toughness to thrive on these surfaces and there are obvious technical flaws in their batting. Their batting against spin left much to be desired. They played the wrong shots," Raja stated.

The former Pakistan captain was relentless in his criticism of the Australian side for failing to cope against the Indian spin attack in both innings.

"Australia would do to teams from the sub-continent on tailor-made surfaces at Perth or Brisbane what India did to them at Delhi. The tables have turned. It shows Australia did not prepare well for the series. It's impossible to beat Team India in India. It was an ordinary performance against spin. They lost 9 wickets in a single session. Jadeja came up with an exceptional bowling effort," the former Pakistan Cricket Council chairperson said.

Having secured the series with consecutive two wins in the ongoing three-match series, India has a major chance to seal a place in the World Test Championship final along with whitewashing the Aussies with another match win.
