Tottenham secured an important point against Man Utd

In Matchday 33 of the English Premier League where Tottenham Spurs made a remarkable comeback while going 0-2 against the Red Devils on Thursday Night in north London. The Lilywhites turned the table against Ten Hag’s men in the second half of the game to draw it 2-2 and secured an important point for the race of the top four in the EPL.

Red Devils were leading with two goals in the first half of the game courtesy of Jadon Sancho(7) and Marcus Rashford(44). However, 5th-placed in the league Spurs managed to balance, thanks to goals from Pedro Porro(56) and Son Heung-min(69).

With this result, Utd is still in 4th place in the standings with 62 points, six points ahead of Spurs who are in fifth place after 33 matches. However, Utd has played 2 fewer matches than the Spurs. It took only 7 minutes for Ten Hag’s side to open the scoring through Sancho's action taking advantage of an assist from Rashford.

In the 20th minute, the deadly combo of Rashford and Sancho again almost brought United to double their advantage. Unfortunately, midfielder Perisic was able to block the ball before it crossed the goal line. The Croatian midfielder came close to scoring an equalizer in the 44th minute. However, the ball shot was countered by Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea.

Not long after, it was the 4th-placed Utd who succeeded in increasing the lead through Rashford's goal. The 2-0 score for United lasted until halftime. Back from the locker room, TOT increased the intensity of the attack while heading for the second half. Unfortunately, Frenchman Lenglet's golden opportunity to score in the 48th minute was thwarted by the crossbar.

Spurs finally managed to reduce the lag to 1-2 in the 56th minute through Porro's volley after previously there was chaos in United's penalty box. In the 59th minute, on the 3-game winning streak, Utd had the opportunity to move away again. Unfortunately, Portugal striker Fernandes' shot from close range still hit the bar.

However, the Spurs’ struggle to equalize the score finally paid off in the 79th minute to make it 2-2 on the sheet. Spurs all-time leading goal scorer Harry Kane's cross was successfully leaked by Son who was standing at the far post to beat De Gea. In the extra added time both sides failed to score a goal and as a result, the game ended 2-2.
