Salem Spartans and Siechem Madhurai Panthers will cross swords in the 15th match of the Tamil Nadu T20 League 2023. The game is scheduled at the SCF Cricket Ground in Salem on Saturday, June 24. 

SS have managed to win only one match this season and are searching ways for to improve their style of play. They are currently occupying the 5th spot in the points table and desperately need wins to strengthen their position. 

The Spartans lost their last match against the Nellai Royal Kings by 5 wickets. It was a rain-curtailed clash, in which batting first they managed to score only 115 runs in 16 overs. Kaushik Gandhi’s 51 runs off 43 balls was the highest score from the side. No other batsman stood up to their expectations in the middle order, which led to a below-par target. 

SS in the second innings tried with all they have to defend the total, but it was a mere task for the opponent batters as they did chase down the target with 5 wickets to spare. Abhishek Tanwar led from the front as he took 2 wickets. Sachin Rathi bowled economically and also took a wicket but all went in vain as the Royal Kings won the match with 2 balls left in hand. 

SMP on the other side is having the worst nightmare this season as they have not even won a single game so far. They have played and lost both of their matches. They would now require to start making their winning ways in order to keep their chances in this tournament. 

They lost their previous match against the Dindigul Dragons by 7 wickets. They have to pull out any string possible to get back to the winning tracks. In the last match, they batted first and set a low-scoring target of 124 runs for the opposition. Jagatheesan Kousik was the highest scorer for the team as he contributed 45 runs.

In the second innings of the game, the opposition batters chased down the target quite easily while losing only three wickets. The only positive thing from the match was Gurjapneet Singh picked up 3 wickets while conceding only 18 runs in his 4 overs tenure.
