The 18th match of the ongoing Tamil Nadu T20 League will be played between Chepauk Super Gillies and Siechem Madhurai Panthers. The game is scheduled at the SCF Cricket Ground in Salem on Monday, June 26. 

While CSG have managed to win two out of five matches, SMP won only one out of their three matches so far. 

CSG started their tournament with two straight victories but lost their next three consecutive games. Their last encounter was against Nellai Royal Kings, they posted a score of 159 runs at a loss of 7 wickets riding on the backs of skipper Baba Aparajith who played tremendous innings of 79 runs off just 51 balls. However, the Royal Kings’ captain Arun Karthik slammed off a century off just 61 balls to lead his side to an 8-wicket win. CSG are in desperate need of a win and to get back to its winning tracks. 

SMP on the other side started their season with two consecutive losses. However, they managed to win their last game against the Salem Spartans. SS humiliatingly posted only 98 runs as the opponent bowlers rattled their entire batting order. Gurjapneet Singh took 3 wickets along with V Gowtham and M Ashwin picking two wickets apiece to restrict the Spartans to an extremely below-par target. Later on, the Panthers comfortably chased down the total with seven wickets and seven overs in hand. In the upcoming match, they would like to replicate this kind of performance to keep their winning momentum in this tournament.

Match Prediction

CSG have a better batting order while the Panthers ride on the backs of tremendously skilled spinners. Nonetheless, the form of the spinners won’t matter much in this pace-friendly pitch and given the form of CSG skipper Baba Aparajith we expect him to be the difference between the sides and bring his team to the winning ways. Thus we fancy CSG to win the match.
