Siechem Madhurai Panthers will square off with IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in the 27th match of the Tamil Nadu T20 League 2023. The game is scheduled on Tuesday, June 4 at the Indian Cement Company Ground at Tirunelveli. 

SMP are placed in the fifth spot with three wins in six matches they have played so far. On the other side, ITT are sitting just one place below the Madhurai Panthers having just one win less than them. Both of them are in a must-win situation to get to a better position in the points table. 

The Madhurai Panthers played their last match against the Lyca Kovai Kings in which they faced a defeat by 44 run margin. The LKK batters ran down SMP’s bowling attack. Suresh Kumar and B Sachin added 60-plus runs each along with their skipper Shahrukh Khan smashing 53 runs off just 23 balls coming down the order to add to a total of 208 runs. Gurjanpreet Singh and Swapnil Singh took two scalps apiece but there was no mercy on their economy rates. SMP batters started off well with Suresh Lokeshwar and skipper Hari Nishant adding 74 runs combinedly for the first wicket partnership. The rest of the batters failed to keep on the momentum and lost wickets at regular intervals. The Kovai Kings’ bowlers claimed all wickets at the end of 18 overs ending SMP’s hopes of winning the match. 

Tiruppur Tamizhans on the other side also faced a defeat in their previous match against the Salem Spartans. While batting, the Spartans posted a decent target of 155 runs riding on the back of Sunny Sandhu who scored 61 runs coming at a crucial moment. P Bhuvaneshwaran took three wickets along with Trilok Nag and Sai Kishore who took two each helped to restrict the total in the first innings of the game. Later on, ITT failed to chase the total in a 20 overs quota with one wicket still remaining. Tushar Raheja, Sai Kishore, and Balchander Anirudh started off well but failed to convert their innings into big scores and which resulted in their loss. From the other end, Sachin Rathi and N Selva Kumaran took three wickets each to clinch a nail-biting 8-run win for the Spartans.

Pitch Report

The pitch at the Indian Cement Company Ground will assist the spinners. They are going to come in handy in the miSMPle overs with lots of turns available on the surface. The captain winning the toss will look to chase the target, with 160 runs being a respectable total at the ground.

Match Prediction

This will be a fantastic battle to look for as both of the teams are near about in the same position and are in desperate need of a win. While the Panthers are in desperate need of a win, the Tamizhans need to win with a bin run margin in order to improve their Net Run Rate. ITT have a good middle-order batting setup whereas SMP possess a good bowling lineup. In the overall analysis, we find SMP having a slight edge over ITT in this match, thus we back them to win.
