Cheapauk Super Gillies will square off against the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in the 5th match of the Tamil Nadu T20 League 2023. The game is scheduled at the SNR College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore on Thursday, June 15. 

CSG have won their inaugural match of the tournament and are sitting in 2nd place in the points table. ITT on the other hand have lost their lone match and are placed in the fourth position in the points table. 

The Super Gillies played against Slem Spartans in their last match, where the Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. They started off with a blast and put up a score of 91 runs in 9 overs before losing their first wicket. But the fall of the wicket didn’t stop them from scoring runs, they went on to hit the opponent bowlers out of the park and drafted a mammoth total of 217 runs at the loss of five wickets. The Spartans failed to cope with the pressure and were crushed under the pressure of the high total. They failed to maintain the required run rate and started losing wickets. In the end, they managed to amass only 165 runs hence losing to the Chepauk Super Gillies by a massive margin of 52 runs. 

The Tamizhans faced Lyca Koval Kings in their first encounter this season of the Tamil Nadu T10 League. By winning the toss, they chose to bowl first. LKK started off in a poor fashion and lost three of their top-order batters in just three overs. Sai Sudarshan saved his side from humiliation and scored the most runs to post a target of 179 at the end of the first innings. ITT started off well although losing a quick wicket. They made a good second-wicket partnership but all went in vain as they lost seven wickets for just 37 runs which got back the Kovai Kings into the game and they won the match by a huge margin of 70 runs.

The 5th Match of Tamil Nadu T20 League 2023 is scheduled to be played at SNR College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore. The surface here at this stadium is flat and favourable for the batters as there is almost no pace or bounce. The outfield in this stadium is remarkably fast and the ball will be travelling to the outfield pretty faster. The pitch also provides a lot of help for the spinners but almost all teams in this league have a powerful batting lineup so in this case it does not matter at all. A total of 180 runs should be a par score on this ground.
